Our accommodations

To stay on Texel at the turn of the year, we offer you a wide choice of holiday accommodation, in the immediate vicinity of De Koog and Den Burg. In our offer you will find spacious apartments with a view of the sea or in the center of De Koog, but also family villas for up to 10 people or spacious 2-6 person bungalows in a natural environment.

Winter cosiness and comfort

Your New Year on Texel starts with a delicious breakfast at the warm stove. This can be a homely gas stove, but also a crackling fireplace or a regular resume. In each of our apartments and holiday homes you will find washable duvets and comfortable beds. Depending on the house, you have access to a simple kitchen block or a fully equipped kitchen. Each accommodation is equipped with sound and video equipment and has free access to the Wi-Fi network. For homes with wellness facilities and / or accommodations for the disabled, it is best to look at our more luxurious holiday homes and the sustainable villas at the Buytenplaats.

The more souls, the more joy

The turn of the year is a party that you prefer to celebrate together with as many friends and loved ones as possible. We have enough families that have been celebrating New Years on Texel for years and years. Everyone is free with those days. And if you do leave the mainland, do the dog a favor and just take it with you. In the majority of our accommodations, pets are allowed and, in addition, the animal is immediately released from the annual fireworks fear. Our bungalows with private garden are ideal for groups with dog (s).

Parking and public transport on Texel

Public transport on the island is well organized. A Connexxion scheduled service runs from the boat over Den Burg to De Koog. He visits some of our parks. There is also the Texelhopper. Small vans that drive, also to order, over all villages and along all sights. Texelhopper also takes pets with him. In connection with the Sunday regulation that is used, around the New Year's Eve on Texel, we advise you to consult the timetable in advance. To park your car on the island, you are most advantageous with a Texel e-vignette. This is possible for the duration of your stay.

Experience the peace

In the days around old and new on Texel there is a meditative atmosphere, where nature is in deep peace. An ideal time to immerse yourself in what we still call real silence. For example in De Slufter. A tidal area, where ebb and flow still flow freely. If it is too windy to stay on the North Sea side, look for the lee of the De Hors nature reserve, on the southern tip of the island. Because Texel has no urbanization, the nights are also darker. Maybe an idea to attend a viewing evening at the observatory in Ecomare?

Walking and cycling

In winter you may not be so eager to take a bike ride. However, we can all poke for a winter walk. Get a breath of fresh air on the beach, gently cracking your footsteps on snowy forest trails, or once it has frozen heavily, shooting beautiful pictures on a ripe covered heather. You can also skate quickly in the Waal and Burg wetlands. The New Year's Dive is also a New Year's tradition on Texel. Maybe exciting, to participate in yourself, but if you are not such a hero, also nice to attend the spectacle from the side.

Sightseeing

With New Year's Eve to Texel, you will wake up on the morning of New Year's Day in the silence of the relaxed island. Many sights are closed on New Year's Day, but there is plenty to do between Christmas and New Year's Day. For example, Christmas markets are held and there are special church services on Christmas Eve. It is also possible to book culinary experiences for New Year's Eve, at beach pavilions and specialized restaurants. On New Year's Day you can participate in the traditional New Year's dive or, less fresh, take a walk along the Slufter to Eierland lighthouse. If you prefer a sheltered spot, it may be more pleasant to walk around Fort Oudeschild.
