What is great fun to do for all ages: go fishing with the shrimp boat TX10 or TX20. The boatmen can tell you all about what you will find in the net. On the cutter, the Wadden shrimps are cooked and you can taste them. You will never get fresher than this! The trip takes about two hours. If you are hungry afterwards, you can go to many nice fish shops in Oudeschild for delicious fresh fish. More interested in the important anchorage that Texel used to be during the VOC? Walk into the open-air museum Kaap Skil and experience life in an old-fashioned fishing village. Fun fact: the windmill there still makes flour for Texel's local bakery, Bakker Timmer.
