When you go on holiday to Texel in the cold months, it is important that your accommodation can be comfortably heated. At each of our holiday homes you can see how the house is heated and whether there is an extra social factor, such as a fireplace or fire pit. In terms of parking spaces, you don't have to worry in this last week of the year. You will now find ample parking everywhere in the villages and at events. If you decide to come by public transport, please consult the Connexxion scheduled timetable of bus number 28 for Den Burg and De Koog in advance. All other destinations can be reached with Texel's own transport service, the Texelhopper.
Nature on Texel
Nature in winter, is there anything to see then? Hell yes! There may be no leaves on the trees and fewer birds flying around than usual, but that is what makes it so different. You have the beach almost to yourself and you can also walk for miles in the forest, without meeting anyone. In De Geul and the Bollekamer you can photograph Scottish Highlanders and Exmoor ponies. The animals were adorned on Texel around Christmas with a rough winter coat. In combination with their warm breath in the cold freezing air, this gives beautiful pictures.
Walking and cycling
