The village is only a row of dunes separated from the North Sea beach. You walk there in a few minutes on a leafy forest road. If you are looking for it more rural and more centrally located on the island, take a look at the country houses at De Parel park and on the Nieuwlanderweg.

If you come to Texel with 8 people on holiday, chances are that you are with several vehicles. If you want to park it during a day at the beach or a trip to a restaurant in the nearby village, you have to pay parking fees. Buying a day ticket every time is going to be in the papers. You are then cheaper with a Texel e-vignette. It is even easier to use the Texelhopper. A local transport service that takes you wherever you want with your regular Ov card, on call. In addition, there is a Connexxion scheduled service between the boat and De Koog.

Texel is known for its sun, sea and wind. It is therefore wonderful to get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the silence on the North Sea beach, on sandbanks the Hors or in the Tidal area the Slufter.
