Beaches
Texel has more than 30 kilometers of white sandy beach. Enjoy the sun here or get a breath of fresh air during a lovely beach walk. Every season the Texel beach has something different to offer you, but all equally delicious! You can also rent your own beach house here ‘ in summer.
De Nederlanden
This area includes the eastern dunes between De Slufter and De Koog. Galloway cattle walk here to avoid roughening. Countless flowers grow and the area is rich in birds. There are several hiking trails, from large to small.
De Muy

De Horsmeertjes and Kreeftepolder
All the way in the southern tip of the island, behind the Mok Bay, about three kilometers from Den Hoorn you will find the Horsmeertjes and the Kreeftepolder. The area belongs to the so-called wet dune valleys, with all kinds of wild plants such as the parnassia. All kinds of duck species breed in the reed collars around the lakes. De Slufter
The Slufter is the most famous nature reserve on Texel and attracts a million visitors every year. A beautiful salt marsh landscape - part of the Dunes of Texel National Park - that floods at northwestern storm. It is the only area in the Netherlands where the sea can flow freely. All the plants that grow here are salt resistant, such as English grass and sea lavender, which color the area beautifully pink, lilac and purple in summer. Parking and public transport
In De Koog and at the beach resorts, parking is paid everywhere. At your accommodation, your car is of course free. If you want to use public transport, you have two options. Connexxion line 28 runs on the route ferry port ‘t Horntje, Den Burg to the centre of De Koog. The second transport service is Texelhopper.
