Tips for real Texel lovers

Stay in De Koog

Staying overnight in De Koog Texel and the surrounding area is no problem at all. In and around the village, apartment complexes, luxury holiday bungalows, campsites and snug holiday homes link up. However, it is wise to book in advance. That way, you can be sure to end up in accommodation that meets your demands for comfort and luxury. For example, our flats Juliana or Zeedistel. Beautiful flats on the dune at the edge of De Koog. Would you prefer a luxury family villa, equipped with every comfort, with the sea and entertainment within walking distance? Then the bungalows on the Orchismient are just what you are looking for.

Holiday for human and animal

A Texel holiday De Koog means fun for people and animals. Not only is there plenty to do on the beach, in the woods and in the seaside resort of De Koog, our accommodation is also designed to suit every individual. For example, the family villas are surrounded by spacious lawns, spacious enough for a ball game with the children or a romp with the dog. Some of our holiday bungalows even have a playground equipment in the garden and several terraces at your disposal.

Parking and public transport

In De Koog and at the beach resorts, parking is paid everywhere. At your accommodation, your car is of course free. If you want to use public transport, you have two options. Connexxion line 28 runs on the route ferry port ‘t Horntje, Den Burg to the centre of De Koog. The second transport service is Texelhopper. With more than 130 pick-up points, the small vans come to all villages and drive past all of Texel's attractions. If you give at least one hour's notice, you can also book the service by time and place.

Nature near De Koog

Despite De Koog being a holiday village, where you will find plenty of entertainment, you are not deprived of nature. On the contrary, apartment complex Juliana, for example, is in the middle of the dunes and only 150 m from the village centre. Although the bungalows on the Orchismient are located in a bungalow district, it is completely embedded in the National Park De Duinen van Texel. From your bungalow, you can walk straight into the woods. To get a good idea of the work of nature, there is a 14.5-kilometre walking route Dunes of Texel around De Koog, downloadable at routeyou.

Walking and cycling

De Koog is a great base for beautiful cycling trips and walks. The village is located almost centrally on the island and is surrounded by the woods of the National Park De Duinen van Texel. The protected nature reserve has a whole network of short and longer walking routes, cycle paths and mountain bike trails. In the walking area de Seeting, the stretch between De Koog and Ecomare, the footpaths are also suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchairs. To introduce visitors to the hidden corners of Texel, Staatsbosbeheer regularly organises interesting excursions. Not only for the able-bodied, but also for people with disabilities. Ask at the reception desk of Ecomare.

Sightseeing

Ecomare, Eierland lighthouse, the Oudheidkamer, ‘t Walvisvaarderhuisje and Fort Oudeschild are the most famous sights on our largest Wadden Island. Also worth a visit are: the Texel Zoo, with its spectacular bird of prey show and special butterfly garden, Kaap Skil, the Beachcomber's Museum Flora and the War and Aviation Museum at Texel Airport. Depending on the time of year you visit the island, birdwatching in the month of May, the Texel Regatta in the month of June, mushroom walks with the forest ranger in October and lamb cuddling in winter/spring are also good reasons to stay overnight in Texel De Koog.

Guests about Texelvakanties

  • Super modern and comfortable equipment where nothing is missing.Cozy and with an eye for detail.Great and comfortable beds! Garden is Regrettably, it is not fully enclosed and is only partially suitable for small children and dogs. Location is top and you can reach everything on foot. The village with many restaurants, shops, etc., just a short walk away. Kamperfoelie is a smaller and quiet park. The houses all "owner-managed" and accordingly d...
  • Very professional team that responds to the wishes of the guests even in difficult times . The apartments are in top condition and the equipment leaves nothing to be desired. Especially for dog owners, both the apartment house Juliana and the island is a great holiday destination.
  • We had another very nice holiday in Villapark Kamperfoelie. The location is ideal, the houses are beautiful. We keep coming back!!!
  • After the first accommodation (house) was not in order (cleanliness and power supply), we were offered a switch to an apartment where everything was fine. The new apartment was well equipped and had a beautiful sea view. It was also very clean. We would book an apartment in the Julianacomplex at any time and can also recommend it if you have a dog.
  • We go here for a week every year because it is a wonderfully quiet place, with a beautiful view over the sea with inimitable sunsets in colors, walking distance beach and village with all lively bars and restaurants. This is the ultimate resting place for us and yet everything at hand if you want. There are apartments with sea view and land view, there is a price difference.
  • We have been coming to villa park Kamperfoelie for years and always to full satisfaction. Fantastic houses that have been adapted over the years to the applicable taste (renewed bathrooms, kitchens, floors, beds ...) It is also nice that there is always sufficient crockery, etc., so that it does not match the intended number of residents. Beautiful, spacious villas with all comforts in a spacious garden and close to the Koog. It is already cer...
  • We enjoyed 2 weeks on the beautiful island of Texel in a very luxurious house on the honeysuckle. On a Friday we went and everything goes very smoothly on the boat, when you get off the boat you first have the idea that Texel is not so beautiful, but once you drive on you enter a very nice area. The house was fully equipped, dishwasher, combi microwave and lots of cutlery and crockery. As a nice side effect we had a bath with bubbles. The gard...
  • Spent a week in apartment Juliana 172. Upon entering we immediately became happy with the SCHONE and renovated apartment. We regularly come across it differently. Owner appreciates his guests by renting out his apartment in top condition. The reception was also good at the reception. We will definitely be back in this apartment complex.
  • Holiday park Kamperfoelie fine, clean and well-kept house as well as the entire park! Both downstairs and above spacious. Spacious neat garden and bossage; everything neatly cared for. Highly recommended close to the beach and supermarket (walking distance).
  • Booked a house via Texel holidays and with great pleasure spent a midweek on 'Het oude dijkje'. Very nice house, top arranged and good communication. Compliments!
  • A well-organized company for the rental of a stay on Texel. We have been booking there for many years and are always perfectly fine!
  • What a good company Texelvakanties is. The apartment was excellent, and exactly as described. Wonderful that view of the dunes and the sea. In addition, communication with Texelvakanties is extremely pleasant and professional. Next time we go back to Texel we will definitely book again at Texelvakanties!
