Public transport and parking facilities
Public transport on Texel is well organized. A Connexxion line runs up and down, from the ferry port, over Den Burg to the center of De Koog. In addition, the island has its own transport service, called Texelhopper. With small vans that you can book on time and place, you can drive over a network, with more than 130 stops. Paid parking is available everywhere on the island in the villages and at the beach layers.

For example, The Slufter tidal area, where the water still flows freely into and out of the land, or sandbanks de Hors, where you can already see how a new piece of Texel grows. For special themed routes with a natural purpose, such as an orchid and mushroom walk or bird watching, we can heartily recommend a walk with a forester.
Walking and cycling
Just two days away from the daily grind to enjoy cycling or walking. Texel is an excellent location for this. In just two hours you are from the heart of Amsterdam at the destination. If you are going to stay on Texel, you can book a bicycle in advance, so that you can immediately get on the pedals upon arrival. On the island is a bicylce junction network of more that 140 km. If desired, you can plan short or longer laps in advance. You can also leave it to the bike and see where you end up. After all, Texel is not that big.
Sights
Despite the fact that Texel is not large, there is plenty of entertainment. The island villages alone are interesting enough to spend a day there. In Den Burg and De Koog you can shop until you drop and you will find beautiful detached Texel bungalows in a beautiful area. De Cocksdorp is know for the Eierland lighthouse and the 'durpermarkt'. Oudeschild is a real fishing village. Every Friday the fleet comes back to the harbor and is having a good time. Fort De Schansis also located here. Den Hoorn is more to the south. In the spring, when the bulb fields are in bloom, the Den Hoorn area offers beautiful pictures for photography.

There are a number of bungalows where the garden is fenced, namely Orchismient 2, Vredelust 57, Californiaweg 9a, Californiaweg 13a, Nieuwlanderweg 75, Nieuwlanderweg 77 and Annabella 11. Handy if you are on holiday with you dogs, but also if you have young children. Bungalow Vredelust 57 even has a trampoline in the garden and at Annabella 11 and 13 the children can use the platy equipment. Bungalow Annabella 11 on Texel even has a football pitch.
